Convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG

Open an iPhone HEIC or HEIF photo in the browser and download a JPEG, PNG, or WebP. The original stays on your device.

Open HEIC to JPG

iPhones save photos as HEIC to keep them small. Windows PCs, older apps, and many upload forms still want JPEG. Converting does not require iCloud or a desktop app.

Drop the .heic file, leave the output on JPEG, and download. You can also switch to PNG or WebP, resize, or lower the quality if the photo needs to fit an email limit.

Downloading a JPEG or WebP re-encodes the picture, so camera metadata such as GPS is not copied into the new file. Use the EXIF tool first if you want to read that data before it is stripped.

Steps

  1. Open HEIC to JPG.
  2. Drop the iPhone photo.
  3. Choose JPEG and download.

Questions

Why does the photo look the same size?

HEIC is already compressed. A high-quality JPEG can be larger. Lower the quality slider if you need a smaller file.
